4 Ideas for a Winter Bachelorette Party

The holiday season is all about getting together with the people you love, so why not add your bachelorette party to the mix? Whether you and your girls are powder hounds searching for fresh tracks (or the hottest après scene), want to indulge in some serious pampering, or are planning a slumber party of epic proportions, there’s no need to wait until spring to celebrate your final days as a single gal. Here are four of our favorite ideas for a winter bachelorette bash. (And hey, if the cold weather isn’t quite your speed, there’s always Miami!)

Cozy up in a cabin
Treat your last hurrah as a giant sleepover with your closest friends. Sites like HomeAway and VRBO are incredible sources for the cozy log cabin of your hen ‘do dreams, from the Rockies to the Ozarks to upstate New York. Settle in for a weekend filled with chick flick marathons, hot chocolate (spiked with peppermint schnapps, perhaps?), board game battles, and a trip down memory lane.

Hit the slopes
An on-mountain condo is the perfect place to celebrate a bride who loves to ski or snowboard, and the built-in activities mean you’ll have a weekend full of fun with minimal planning. One of our favorites? Killington Resort in Killington, Vermont, which is known just as much for it’s wild après scene as it is for its wide variety of terrain and one of the longest seasons on the East Coast. So even if a few of your friends don’t love the cold, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to warm up with you once the lifts close for the afternoon.

Pamper yourselves
A spa retreat is a classic bachelorette party idea, but this retreat in Utah’s Wasatch Range takes it to another level. Founded by Robert Redford, Sundance Mountain Resort is tucked into the wilderness, making it the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. Spa treatments combine natural products and Native American traditions, and their luxe packages will make your winter woes melt away. After your services, head to the Tree Room for a seasonal, locally-sourced meal, then grab a craft cocktail at the Owl Bar.

Bright lights, big city
Nothing says “holidays” more than the streets of New York City from November to February. Holiday window displays, candlelit dinners, and craft cocktails come together for a winter retreat that’s more non-stop excitement than seasonal escape. Book a few rooms at the hip Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, then head into Manhattan for shopping, a show, or some seriously good food. Book the private dining room at Barbuto in the West Village, then dance the night away around the corner at The Jane. For a more laid-back night that’s just as fun, head across the street from the hotel to bowl, dance, and eat amazing fried chicken at Brooklyn Bowl.
